10 Books that I need ASAP

So, there are a TON of books on my TBR list, and some of them haven’t been released yet. Some of those unreleased books, I need NOW. Like right now. This instant. Here they are –

Wayfarer – Alexandra Bracken

Release Date – January 3, 2017. This is the second book in the Passenger duology, so I can’t post a summary, but I am SO excited. I read Passenger right when it came out, so the wait for this next book has been torturous.

If you haven’t read Passenger, here is a summary – In one devastating night, violin prodigy Etta Spencer loses everything she knows and loves. Heartless – Marissa Meyer

Release Date – November 8, 2016. I loved the Lunar Chronicles, so when I found out Marissa Meyer was doing another retelling, this time set in the Alice in Wonderland world, I was very excited. I’m so glad I’m not going to have to wait long for this one.

Catherine may be one of the most desired girls in Wonderland, and a favorite of the yet-unmarried King of Hearts, but her interests lie elsewhere. A talented baker, all she wants is to open a shop with her best friend and supply the Kingdom of Hearts with delectable pastries and confections. A Mask of Shadows – Linsey Miller

Release Date – September 5, 2017. Well. This is going to be a long wait. There isn’t much information released about this book yet, but the main character is gender-fluid, and I’m already sold.

A gender fluid pickpocket auditions to become a replacement member of the Left Hand – the queen’s quartet of assassins – but must survive the competition while also putting their true reason for auditioning into motion.

A Court of Thorns and Roses #3 – Sarah J. Maas

Release Date – May 2, 2017. Is anyone surprised that this book is on this list? You shouldn’t be. I can’t put a summary up for this book because of spoilers, but I am so excited for this book it isn’t even funny. We don’t even have a title for this, which is really depressing, but it’s getting closer!

If you haven’t read the first book – A Court of Thorns and Roses, here’s the summary – When nineteen-year-old huntress Feyre kills a wolf in the woods, a beast-like creature arrives to demand retribution for it. Dragged to a treacherous magical land she only knows about from legends, Feyre discovers that her captor is not an animal, but Tamlin—one of the lethal, immortal faeries who once ruled their world. As she dwells on his estate, her feelings for Tamlin transform from icy hostility into a fiery passion that burns through every lie and warning she’s been told about the beautiful, dangerous world of the Fae. Throne of Glass #6 – Sarah J. Maas

Release Date – September 2017. I know Empire of Storms just came out. But I finished it. And if you’ve finished it, you’ll understand why I need the next book NOW. I’m so sad that this is going to be the end of my adventures with all of these characters, but I want to get the next book to make sure all my babies end up happy.

If you haven’t read Throne of Glass, here’s the summary – After serving out a year of hard labor in the salt mines of Endovier for her crimes, 18-year-old assassin Celaena Sardothien is dragged before the Crown Prince. Prince Dorian offers her her freedom on one condition: she must act as his champion in a competition to find a new royal assassin. Her opponents are men-thieves and assassins and warriors from across the empire, each sponsored by a member of the king’s council. If she beats her opponents in a series of eliminations, she’ll serve the kingdom for four years and then be granted her freedom. Celaena finds her training sessions with the captain of the guard, Westfall, challenging and exhilarating. But she’s bored stiff by court life. Things get a little more interesting when the prince starts to show interest in her … but it’s the gruff Captain Westfall who seems to understand her best. Then one of the other contestants turns up dead … quickly followed by another. Can Celaena figure out who the killer is before she becomes a victim? As the young assassin investigates, her search leads her to discover a greater destiny than she could possibly have imagined.

Long May She Reign – Rhiannon Thomas

Release Date – February 21, 2017. This one looks so interesting. I’m getting very Tudor-era vibes from this summary, and I’m a sucker for monarchial plot-lines.

Freya was never meant be queen. Twenty third in line to the throne, she never dreamed of a life in the palace, and would much rather research in her laboratory than participate in the intrigues of court. However, when an extravagant banquet turns deadly and the king and those closest to him are poisoned, Freya suddenly finds herself on the throne.

Flame in the Mist – Renee Adhieh

Release Date – May 2, 2017. I marathoned The Wrath and the Dawn and The Rose and the Dagger a few months ago, and I absolutely loved both of them. Now Renee Adhieh is writing about a Japanese Mulan? Yes, please!

Strange the Dreamer – Laini Taylor

Release Date – March 28, 2017. I loved Laini Taylor’s first trilogy, Daughter of Smoke and Bone, and this new book looks every bit as fascinating, enchanting, and mystical.

Wait for Me – Caroline Leech

Release Date – January 31, 2017. I’m getting some serious All the Light We Cannot See  vibes from this book, and I can’t wait to jump in. While I never really thought I was a big fan of WWII books, every one I’ve ever read I’ve loved. So maybe I am a WWII nerd….

Let’s Talk About Love – Claire Kann

Release Date – January 23, 2018. Yes, 2018. I’m silently crying as we speak. I can’t tell you how excited I am for this book. An asexual main character???? YESSSSSS. I have waited. SO LONG. For a book like this. And now I have to wait like another year. Help.

Alice is secretly asexual, and that’s the least important thing about her. She’s a college student, has a great job, amazing friends, and is fine being single—nope, that’s a lie.
